Holy S***!

Wouldnt you like to find one of these at a garage sale?

This is where the market loses me. How many vintage Fender basses are out there vs. Rickenbacker basses of the same era vs. resale value?

Did that make any sense?....

Makes you want to hunt every estate sale, pawn shop, rummage sale...

A trash hauler from my area found a 1958 Gibson ES-335 along his route. (I think I got that right.) I played it last Friday, and it is stellar, despite a little water damage to the finish. He also found a very nice men's diamond ring.

Dumpster Divers, unite.

Interesting and very ironic.

Trash? Always gonna be there right?

Ahhh..job security. Image

I am employed as the Assistant Operations Manager of a medium sized Transfer Station / Recycling center in Midwest Ohio.

You cant-even-freaking-begin to believe the stuff people toss out.

About the only thing I havent came across yet is a body......but, I keep looking. Image

'61 Blonde JB? I'll take two please! Image That's my favorite Fender set-up right there.

I've wondered about the price difference between Rick and Fenders considering the amount made. I think it boils down to the ratio of people that want an old Fender to who wants an old Rick.

A friend of mine used to be a trash hauler. One day he dropped off a little Gibson amp that he found. It turns out it was made in about 1942-43! I had the cord and some caps replaced, and it's a rocker!
It now belongs to my son. He does a mean job of Smoke on the Water with his little Duo-Sonic and that amp! Image

I found a Wurlitzer electric piano, model 120 (mid-late 50's?) in the garbage once. I always scope trash and big dumpsters. I've seen Hammond organs by the side of the road, even.

They've also got a '58 Capri for $12,500.

That's my neighborhood shop. Very nice guys. They do all of the work on my Ricks.

I found an old Danelectro "tic-tac" bass in the trash, a water damaged Gretch case with intact 6120 paperwork, sealed polishing cloth and bill of sale, countless amplifiers, mostly damaged beyond repair, but they all get pulled off so I can strip the hardware, knobs, logo's ect...still waiting on the holy grail.

That Jazz is nice but I think that thing is going to be there for a LONG time at that price. I've seen 60-62, non-standard color J basses in excellent shape go for much less than that on epay. They're dreaming IMHO.

Says it is not for sale. So he can value it where ever he chooses but doesn't have to prove the value with a sale.

Hmm. Maybe I should try that with my Toyota.

It's not for sale unless someone coughs up somewhere in the vicinity of $69,000.00. Awful lot of zeros, huh?
