Hi Scott,
Welcome to the Forum, the potential value would depend on it's condition, however late 60's 4001's have sold in the $3000-$5000 US range recently.
If you've any pictures of your 4001 that would help a lot.

Is it a 4001s or a 4001 Deluxe? I would say $5k at least if it's in good shape.

Welcome Scott,
Your bass sounds cool...Like the guys said, does it have triangle inlays on the neck or dots? Original finish? Hardware?
I only posted last week about never seeing a 67 deluxe, those with the triangle inlays.
If original, with a horseshoe $7500 is a good number to start with...

hi ...its a 4001s with the dots with original mapleglo finish. sadly the horseshoe has been replaced long ago but i believe all other hardware is original.

"...sadly the horseshoe has been replaced long ago."
That's not sad for me, as long as it wasn't routed and butchered, 'cuz I'd be putting a hi-gain in it anyway!
