Anyone check out the new
Fleetwood Owen website yet?
The site says:
The celebration begins
September 15th, 2000
Fleetwood Owen will hold a live
Beatles auction at the London Hard Rock Cafe on Tuesday, October 17, in which John Lennon's walnut "Imagine" Steinway Z upright piano and 1965 Ferrari 330GT will be up for grabs, among other Beatles items.

You betcha, Peter! Watch all the Holy Grails of the world start going seriously ballistic what with Fleetwood Owen taking on the high-end rock memorabilia market now -- and online, no less. Paul Allen has already made it extremely fashionable for multi-billionaires to collect this sort of thing. And this is all still in its infancy, too. (I ain't complaining!)

Here's a little something to consider.
Quote:ItemEstimate £Estimate U.S. $ John Lennon's Steinway upright piano£300-400,000$474,000-632,000 *Estimated prices as listed in the auction catalog. U.S. $ based on March 17, 1997 exchange rate of 1£=$1.58
Bonham's 1997 Beatles Auction (Tokyo & London Saturday 22 March, 1997) Quote:TOKYO (AP) -- . . . But the Steinway piano that Lennon used to compose the song, "Imagine," went unsold after the initial price tag of $308,000 was met with silence.
Beatles memorabilia goes on the block in Tokyo (Saturday, March 22, 1997)
Summary
March 22, 1997
Lennon's Steinway upright meets with silence; can't even draw a lousy
$308,000 bid.
October 17, 2000
Lennon's Steinway upright sells as a bona fide
$2.1 million icon.
(Did someone say "
ballistic"??)

It is interesting to consider what the 1958 325 Capri would fetch if the auctioneers can squeeze out $2.1 million US for this piano.

Yes the most valuable guitar on the planet. Perhaps if you all pitch in together you might be able to buy a tuner.
