yes it will be a 5 string bass ... unless I get weak in the knees ... sometimes I get a 4 string Ric that is just too nice to drill a hole in ... but I am thinking that this could become my favorite 5 string bass ...

It might also look good with black trim ... but the gold and trans red is a nice look ...

That's why Scott emailed me for some pics of my old 97 4003 white/BT.... he obviously was contemplating a future transaction and doing some research. Looks like everybody made out in that deal, two awesome looking basses. Also looks like me and Jeff would rather play 4004's than 4003's, I know which ones I prefer....

Lovely flamed Maple and a very nice colour finish, that a nice looking 4004 Jeff.

I have always liked this bass. I would not transfom this bass into a 5 string as it does have some historical relavence, it being the one photographed and shown in RIC's catalog and on their owner's manuals.

Two beautiful basses there! I'd would've kept the white one... But the red one is unreal! Not a fan of gold, but I think that's what the finish calls for. Congrats!

People I tried.

I'd been on the fence for a long time with this one. A true work of art for sure, as are all CII's. It almost made its way into Ray Christensen's arms, but I think he's very happy with the Mapleglo he just got. I new Jeff had the bright white 4003, and its very similar to the very first Rick I've ever owned. The CII tone just isnt "the" tone for me. Since I got the QSC/Sansamp RBI rig, I have been getting some of the best 4003 sounds ever. Jeff's bright white 4003 will be a welcome addition. Mark you are correct. I was fishing for info at the time, thank you for your photo's.

Scott - I have no issue with you being "Cheyenne" even though you are apparently 4004-less at the moment.
