The Cure's new DVD release "Trilogy", is great because it highlights bassist Simon Gallup and his 4001 Jetglo. (First part of DVD). This music may not be for everyone but the Ric tones and slides are very well recorded and should be enjoyable to most Rickenbacker fans.

Welcome aboard, Brian.
Yes I have the Trilogy DVD's and Simon looked and sound cool with his 4003 (4001?) JG for the "Pornography" set, whose TRC and pickguard had been converted to black ones and looked totally a Gothic babe.

IMHO, the level of the 4003 in the first set could be mixed louder. It was mixed slightly softer than the 2nd and 3rd sets. But that's only a minor dissatisfaction.

He plays a 4003 FG in the studio too.

By the way, congratulations on scoring your 4003 Shadow!

Thanks Paul- You are right about the recorded volume
The bass is crunchy and sometimes discordent as it was went to be. Let's try to bring this amazing bass into the here and now.
