Does anyone know this band?

Last week I saw a band on MTV who had three white guitars with black pickguards and one was a 4003, along with a Fender P bass. The two bass players were at opposite ends on the stage, the name of the song is "Here we Kum" or something like that, most of the song is in Spanish, the title and some lines are English. It is a hit here in S. america as far as I know but I only watch MTV when I am extremely bored so I don't want to watch it just to see the video again (apologies to anyone who likes MTV), and I've also heard it on the radio, but again missed the name. The last band I heard of with two bassists were "The Strawberry Alarm Clock"

I'm not basing myself on an actual viewing of the video, but the way you describe the band sounds like it might be Molotov. Is the music an aggresive type of rock/rap? If so, that increases the liklihood that it's them.

Or not.

Yup that's them, do they actually use both basses or was one a prop? I didn't think of the music as particularly aggressive, it was more like pop-hard rock, with slight hints of rap, but much more melodic. There were no where near as heavy as the rock-rap I've heard in the states, but that is definitely the band.

Yeah they do actually use both basses Bob. If I'm not mistaken, the Rick guy plays overdriven chords and melodic lines... and the other bassist mostly does a lot of slappin & poppin. Very interesting stuff.

There was a brief article on them a couple of years ago in Bass Player mag.

The dance clubs 'round these parts occasionally play a song by them entitled "Puto", which means... uh, no... I'd better not translate that.

And yeah the song I've heard is kind of catchy in a poppy way.

Bob-- I think that Spinal Tap used two bass players on their "hit" called "Big Bottom"
I just remembered that I love that part of the movie!
