Ken: Welcome to The Rickenbacker Forum. You will likely get quite a range of opinions on this very good question.
The pro is that it looks cool and harkens back to a previous era. The con is that it is not a very functional vibrato and as such I am not sure you will like it or use it. If it was a vintage instrument to begin with I would not touch it. As it isn't, however, I would not install one. My two cents.

Thanks Pete--I guess there is not allot of interest in this Question. I just love those kickstands though!--Gasee

Your most welcome Ken. There is a lot of interest in these units for the Model 325, especially for the Beatles' tribute folks. As you know this was on the Model 325V63(Miami) Rickenbacker. It is on that guitar because Lennon had it on his and not because of its utility, at least that is my view.
With all things Rickenbacker there is sometimes a trade off between the functional versus the aesthetic. I am not aware of any artist that has used the accent vibrato as part of their regular performances, Lennon included.
With regard a lack of interest in your kickstand idea, be patient, maybe you spoke too soon.

Well I ended up putting the Vibrola on my 96' 1997 reissue! I think its better suited for that guitar.--Its sounds great!--Gasman
