Hi Folks,

I was wondering if anyone out there in the forum can offer any advice on where I can go to have a custom leather guitar strap made. I have the design already, I just need someone to execute it. If anyone has some advice or someone they can refer me to, I would appreciate it!

Thanks!

You might look in your local yellow pages for a leather shop. I think I remember seeing a guitar strap at a shop in Chula Vista where I got my motorcycle leathers, and that shop did make stuff there.

You might try Atlas Guitar Straps. They have an eBay store. Looks like they may do custom work. I like the look of their vintage style straps (very similar to Rick and Hofner straps). I plan to place an order with them.

Send an email to Russ Rubman, he's a member of this site. He had a really cool custom made George Harrison tribute strap at MARF.

Do a Google search for Fosters Leather in Birmingham Alabama. They are the ones who make all the straps for Stones, Who, Clapton, ZZ Top, ect. They do amazing work. Very expensive and takes their time.

Not for the faint of heart or light of wallet -

She has quite an impressive list of clients that include Keef and Hank Williams, Jr among others. Not my thing, though.........

I want to thank everyone and their advice and recommendations on this thread. I wound up going to Barry at Cowcatcher (http://www.cowcatcher.us) He has made straps for Dave Navarro (Jane's Addiction) and Travis Tritt. He is very nice and a pleasure to work with.

He was able to execute a design I had sent him for a strap for my 360 BlueBoy. I wanted the strap to be "era-appropriate", and a little fun. You can see pictures of the strap via the links below (I am getting wacky errors when I try to post pictures to this forum). Thanks again to everyone who shared information on this thread.

Nice strap, Charlie! I hope you don't mind my resizing and posting your pictures here.
