I came across this pic of George holding John's 325 before the refinish. (Complete with missing knob! )

Although I have pics of John with Georges Rick, I have never seen a pic of George with this guitar before.Image

Nah, it's legit. Very early pic for sure, John hadn't had the guitar very long at the time the pic was taken in Hamburg.....

I've seen it on a number of Beatles sites; I'm pretty sure it is real, even if the 325 looks like it has slightly different lighting/exposure. It may be Astrid being artsy with the lighting (assuming she took this picture.) EDIT: didn't see above post.

It's one of Astrid's I believe, when she was the band's photographer of sorts in Hamburg. If it's not her's, it definitely has her style with the usage of the shadows.

There are actually a couple more from the same roll. If I can find them, I'll post.

Actually it was taken by Jurgen Vollmer. This and many others are featured in his book "ROCK 'N' ROLL TIMES". Vollmer also took the picture of Lennon featured on the front cover of his 'Rock 'N' Roll' album.

Here are a few more of Vollmer's Hamburg photos.

Matter of fact, the photos were taken after Paul took over bass and Stu was their with his Hofner as well. It was more of a photo op then a real set.

Ashley - are you saying the pix that appear to be performance shots are not? How do you know this?

Oh yes - and WELCOME.
