Would you classify a 360 neck as a "neck through" or a "set in" construction?

The 360 model has a set-neck construction Joe.

It's a fairly deep and generous set though, is it not?

Given the fact that the guitar is a milled out block of solid wood with the neck glued in about 3", it's almost a neck through. The joint is actually a simple mortise and tenon joint. In the Japanese Rick 12 string book, there are some good photos of the neck being glued into a 330 or 360 body. The back is attached to the top first and the neck is attached later.

Bruce: It would be nice to post a couple of scans here, should you be able.

Peter,

My scanner's not currently hooked up, but I'll try to set it up over the weekend. If I can't make it happen, I will do it at my office. Only problem is that I will be away all next week. Maybe someone else has the book and can scan them.

Well, you can see it quite clearly on this pic:

Hope these work. Looks like a 360v64/12. You can tell from the double binding that the back is on before they glue in the neck. Also, the tenon is a lot longer than 3". Looks like about 5". Looks like it goes almost in to the bridge pickup rout.ImageImageImage
