From the rumor mill, a burglary was the last straw for them.

"The Swami" used to have a great site. I did some business and it took many months to get paid. Most likely he was robbing-peter-to-pay-paul. He still sets up at the big guitar shows.

I bought a '73 4001 from the Swami a few years ago that arrived with some undisclosed issues. Add that to the fact that he was near impossible to get hold of via phone or e-mail, and I decided it was best not to deal with him anymore. That said, I always enjoyed checking out his web site.

I tried to deal with the "Swami" on several occasions, including a checkerbound 4001 that he had once. He was always too busy to talk to me at Guitar shows, or I would email himm and get a response(IF I got one) several weeks later. I was left with the impression that he was either VERY disorganized, or he just didn't have enough time to deal with his customers. I practically threw money at him on a couple of occasions, but he wouldn't give me the time of day... Bit of an odd duck, IMHO... Others may have other opinions...
