I had this bass up for sale once before a while back, but I have acquired some other things since and have decided to try selling it again at a reduced price.

Yes, it's right-handed!!

I have pics, and can take new ones for anyone who wants to see specific things. The bass is all original except for two of the knobs. Pots date from the 16th week of 1957. It is (so far) the oldest Hofner Violin Bass on Steve Russell's Hofner Bass registry.

Some small issues as well which I'll discuss, but it's simply a great 50 year-old Hofner bass. Action is great, neck angle is spectacular(no reset), plays like a dream. Rosewood pickups, oval control plate, long tailpiece with 'KH' badge, very fat neck w/vertical logo and narrow peghead, strip tuners.

Be the ONLY one on your block/state/maybe even COUNTRY that has one. Comes with it's factory soft-shell case with straps which is in decent shape bot not perfect. This bass has MOJO.

Price is $3500 FIRM, and shipping will be extra according to your preference. Thanks for reading...if you buy it you won't be dissappointed.

Wow, John, would this be like the Hofner seen in La Dolce Vita?

I see that it was released in '60. So it was probably shot in 59 or even late 58. The Hofner in the band playing a restaurant scene looks to be a very early one.

John that is pretty - knobs - color wow. And I am two weeks older than it is! Now that is something that should have its own parade every year; like at Apple Blossom or something! Too cool!!
