Does anybody know the marketing philosophy behind why I can't purchase a "C" series roller-bridge for my '66 Rose, Morris 1998? RIC have a product and I have money, what more is needed? The response I have is that the part is 'production only'. I fully understand the Rickenbacker nameplate concern, but a genuine bridge is hardly going to be used for evil!

The appropriate C-ceries roller bridge for a '66 isn't available yet.

You need the one for the C-64, rather than the C-58.

In any event, I'm awaiting availability as well. I need a C-58 bridge, 2 C-58 toasters, and 2 Kaufmans.

There have been more than a few people who have opted to 'Lennonize' their 325C58s; in so doing some have sold their roller bridges and Kauffmans to recoup the investment of the B5 Bigsby purchases.....I posted a thread sometime ago asking people to e-mail me if they wanted to part with their 'take-off' bridges and Vibrolas, and a few answered the call. Many thanks to those who did..

I doubt that once the 325C64 hits the market you will see many 'take off' parts from these guitars, since John Lennon never modified his '64 325.

In the interest of satisfying those who wish to restore their vintage Rickenbackers to factory specification, it would only be prudent for RIC to sell replacement C-Series components to those who need them; most of us are well aware of how rare some of these parts are to find......

It's not that Rickenbacker has any restiction on C-series replacement parts, it's that they need all they can make for instrument production. There was also a big delay from their chrome platers. That's the story I've gotten and I tend to believe it.

Lefty: Some Rickenbacker configurations will never go away and at the top of this list is the Model 325 in natural finish with Bigsby. A few hardware substitutions and the 325C58 allows many Rickenbacker owners to get a step closer to the original "Lennon" look. The quest continues ...

This may be a dumb question, but does an Accent vibrato unit work better with a roller bridge than with a standard bridge?

Not a dumb question, but I don't know the answer really either....LOL --- I would think the strings would perform better if the strings traveled on rollers, BUT-----

The 325V63's had an Ac'cent Vibrato but no roller bridge; of course the 325's from the 50's and the '60's had roller bridges....I guess if we could get some feedback from people who own 325V63's it may better help answer your question......
