It is with pleasure that I can finally reveal my latest addition to the family.

Much love goes out to Jeff Rath for supplying the tailpiece and bridge and Sergio Silva for supplying me with a bridge and neck pickup.

Without you guys, I don't know how I would have put this fine instrument together.

Enjoy the pics.

I am glad I could help with parts to get your 4003s5 functioning ...

you should install the 2 extra screws in the screw holes on the tailpiece ...

Brett that is Schweet! Very nice - love the wood. And yes, put something in the holes... diamond studs, screws (even fake screw heads)- whatever. Just put something there for aesthetics. Great finish to the project!

Hey Brett. She is lovely, no argument there. How do you like her "new voice"?

I'm not a five string guy myself, but man, is that a gorgeous bass! Congrats and may there be many happy days ahead with this beaut!

Really nice maple on that one, Brett. Congrats.

I concur with Jeff - put the two screws in to forestall any future tail lift 5'ers can have.

I'll definitely put the last 2 screws in and I also have another pickup to go into the neck position once it arrives from Portugal.

I'm hoping the pickup gets through customs as the last one from Sergio was quarantined for a while on suspicions of being a WMD.

Fingers crossed this time.

Peter should start a thread called "The Forum This Rick Built" and show us the picture of his Rickenbacker that got him going with creating this Forum. Image

You should hear my April '74 4001, now with a new pickup set of my own. Scary. It gives a new definition to "distinctly Rickenbacker".
