Couple of YouTube posts from The Eradicators' last gig here in Toronto. It was titled "The Great Lakes Surf Battle" and featured 7 instrumental "surf" themed bands over 2 nights.
Here are 2 covers that we did, I'm trying to track down footage of our originals. We weren't able to get a board feed for the camera so it's just using the on camera mic.
Here's Pintor:

Nice Dave! A good round sound with a hint of Ricky click (or clank) on top. What kind of amp do you use?
BTW as I've told you personally, I've always loved that name .... The Eradicators...

That rocks, David. Thanks for posting. My co-workers liked it also. One of them asked if it was Dick Dale!

You guys RAWK!
You are the only surf bassist that I know of who plays a Ric (when I played in a surf/spy/spaghetti combo I used a Fender Bass VI).

Great stuff!
Really classic tones all the way around.
My buddy Mike, who I used to play in a 50's-60's band with, loves surf stuff & had a '64 Jag much like that.
We played a couple of classic surf tunes: Pipeline & Walk Don't Run showing off that Jag tone & I used my 4000. It sounded great for surf stuff.

Thanks guys! Much appreciated.
We actually do more than just surf, we throw in a little punk/garage and some spaghetti-western influences too. I guess the easiest way to describe the scope of what we do would be to say "if you like the soundtrack to Pulp Fiction you'd probably like us"! With regard to the surf stuff, we make a real effort to contemporize the sound and the way that we play it so that hopefully, it appeals to almost anyone - well, that's my excuse... I just don't want the sound of the bass buried so far back and "behind" everything else like in a lot of the original production! *smile*
Steve I can't remember if I told you, but I wasn't even aware of the Kids in the Hall connection until later. We got the name from a friend who made a comment at one gig that our volume levels from stage (we're slightly loud) eradicated the front rows.
And you wouldn't be surprised Jeff but we usually end one of our sets with Miserlou.
Tom I've got some pics at work that I can post on Monday. There are some that have been posted before in some of the other threads but I'll find a new one!
Thanks Ilan, I try to rotate through my basses but there are 3 that I tend to gravitate to more than anything else... My custom made AC Guitars ReCurve, my 4002 and my Sadowsky PJ. I can't tell you how much I love this 4002, how versatile it is, how nice it is to play...
Kevin, you wouldn't believe the guitars that Rio (the guitar player) will bring out. He's got amazing stuff. I think the one that he's playing there on YouTube is a '64. But it's his backup, the one that he takes out to save the "real" one since this one has been refinished and the neck has been shaved. But it does sound phenomenal. I agree with you, I think that a Ric sound goes perfect with surf.
Scott, you're dead on... What's the use of having something special if you don't play it!
I really appreciate the comments guys. Thanks so VERY much!
