MORE BREAKING BUZZ
Roman Guitars Closing
(Port Washington, NY - June 14, 2007) Las Vegas-based Ed Roman Guitars, known as “The World’s Largest Guitar Store,” began liquidating its assets on June 13. This comes six months after Roman sold the business to a company operating area car dealerships. According to Roman, nine employees were let go in May, followed by 13 more on June 13. Roman believes a car dealership will replace his store, due to the potential for more profits.
“I want everyone to know I’ll be back and everything will be made whole,” said Roman. “I am in the process of buying my name back. I didn’t sign any non-compete clause, so I hope to reopen a store, although it won’t be as large as my last one.”
According to Roman, his potential new store would also open in the Las Vegas

Makes ya wonder, with all the Ricks he has in stock, if they are bought by a wholesaler, and resold, if they would still be warranteed

If the "wholesaler" is not an authorized Rick dealer, then the answer is no.

I don't think you mean "wholesaler"; I don't believe that Ed would do such a deal, although he probably would offer a slight discount for a quantity buy.

"offer a slight discount for a quantity buy."

LOL...

So they would then all be only slightly-less way overpriced, instead of way overpriced? Image

To be fair, he earned my respect back a little when a fellow Forumite ordered his 4003DCM through Ed, and lo and behold Ed shipped it straightaway as soon as it arrived, with none of that Chicago Music Exchange skullduggery.

Ah, but the second 4003 DCM was being held out for SD!

Sorry, Jared, SD?

Skullduggery, perhaps?

But he held that DCM back, not selling it, and did honor the sale price of the one he delivered. No SD there.

Does he still have that second one he put into stock, I wonder, or did it go with the overall liquidation?

Dunno - a phone call might solve that... I was backing your statement that he didn't pull a CME with the one he did sell. As I remember it, he was holding it out way back in August 06, not selling it.

Good on Ed, then, John! Image

We should probably then mark down that Ed Roman is holding one of the "60" US 4003DCMs as his, in our informal inventory of where they all are...

Thanks for the warning, Ed..
