If this has been covered to death, I can't seem to locate relevant threads.

I need your recommendations for a place to buy a few little pieces that were missing or worn out on my new old 1973 4001. I prefer to buy on-line if possible.

Strap buttons: the previous owner has straplocks installed, and the originals are gone.

Mute foam, not that I'd use the mute, but it would be cool to have it functional.

Bridge pup cover. Not that I'd install it, but it would be nice to have for the unknown future.

When I got my new old '73 4001 in '03 I got a bunch of similar parts (lots of different screws, RIC straplock buttons, foam mute) from Mike Parks at The Music Connection (same as The Rickenbacker Page).

Since that time I have bought lots of stuff, even a 4004Cii, from Mike. He is a great guy to get to know.

Like Jeff said, it's a good time to stock up on those pesky pickguard screws, treble pickup surround screws, any other odds & ends that may be rusty or have chewed up heads.
It's always nice to have spares!

I've done the same & dealt with several of the above mentioned sources. All provided quick, excellent service.

It surprised me how straight the neck is. The action is low, and it just feels great. Sounds like a Ric, so all's good there.
