Chris Clayton???

That’s right Chris Clayton.

Our Co-host for the MARF event (and Ric dealer), has quite the second life.

Being that I live in the Philadelphia area, I do listen to the rather popular classic rock station WMGK. Since I am a listener, I have known for sometime now that Chris’s band (The Toonz), is the radio station’s house band. That entitles Chris to land a lot of high profile gigs in this area.

They are opening up for “Kansas” on the 4th of July, in case any locals wanted to go.

I wonder what type of bass that Chris will play???

Good bar bass,,,inexpensive, nice playing and sounds decent enough. If you need to crack it over someones head when things get rough,,,your not out much either.

Its always nice to have a bass like that...

I have the very same bass for my "questionable" jobs.

I was the Sound and Lighting engineer for The Toonz for almost nine years. Chris and his Fender (Brownie) have been together forever. That is really one of the good ones, lots of MOJO in that one. She's been dropped, kicked and generally abused for 20 odd years and still sounds and plays great.

Hi Darryl! Nice to hear from you again. Wish I could make it to that show, but it's a helluva drive. Especially around Washington at 4:00 in the afternoon!

Kris, what do you mean? I used to love driving the Capitol Beltway! When I was stationed in Norfolk (long time ago) and I would leave for the weekend, I'd hit the beltway around 3:30 PM in my '71 Chevelle SS... only place I've ever been where bumper to bumper traffic is still going 90 MPH - Invigorating!!!

Of course, get there an hour later and it was gridlock!

Yeah, well, I hit gridlock Friday afternoon the weekend of MARF. It would have been quicker to take a bunch of state routes in a 50 mile radius around Washington!
