Setting a neck

do i have this right?
i want to set my neck dead straight (it currently has a slight bow & it's the '67).
1. loosen the 2 bolts
2. straighten the neck by hand
3. snug the bolts back up

You don't rally need to loosen the bolts. Just manually adjust the neck where you want it and snug the bolts.

Strings on - tuned up and (according to the manual) don't do more than 1/2 turn at a time. Take your time and be nice to it.

Taking your time can sometimes mean doing this over more than one day. If you're really cautious, a 1/4 turn each day until the job is done.
Too fast and you'll need new rods and/or your fretboard stuck back on!
Make sure the nuts turn smoothly before you start forcing anything.
