That's like the one in the RIC factory museum, except a lefty. Beautiful.

Actually, John, it isn't. The one at the RIC factory museum, the one used on stage at the 75th events, was more of a prototype for the Cii. It had a maple fretboard, and IIRC, a semimatte finish.
The one at talkbass is an early production Cii with the quilted maple top laminated to the typical Ci walnut body wings. Note also that this one has a bubinga fretboard, lowered pickups, and like all leftie Cheyenne's (and other models I suspect), a gold back-painted plexi TRC.
Speaking of lefties, does anyone know if there are ANY molded-plastic (raised letters) leftie TRCs for any model?

Good call, Paul. I missed the bubinga fretboard difference. I guess I was wowed by the maple! I also guess thats why you are writing a bass reference book and I'm not!

No lefty molded TRCs.
Peter L and I got to talking about this in TX, so I'm relaying more his expertise and experience than mine...

That is a beauty of a bass. I suppose Peter and I would have to duel for it, pistols at ten paces.
This bass with 4002 pickup spacing would be really cool, a dream Rick for me personally.
And I agree about the left-handed TRCs, only screened and not stamped.

Most likely injection-molded plastic rather than stamped. I think RIC had maybe one master mold made. Not enough lefties to justify a separate mold.

That's right Paul, it is my understanding that only a righty mold was made, so
all lefties get a flat plexi (oh and a silver re-issue case too).
