Of course they are now a boutique small instrument company, but we still love them. Shipments today are nowhere near their peak many years ago. These days, the PC (Politically Correct) terminology is Rightsized.

RIC has Rightsized itself, not shrunk in manufacturing volume compared to the Glory Days.....

And they make such amazingly fantastic Boutique Instruments, in my book, that I shall remain a loyal and enthusiastic customer of RIC for many progressively more Rightsized years to come Image

actually I think they mean they won't be shipping any products sold under the boutique section of the web site ... stuff like screws, and other hardware and spare parts ...

Does that mean Kenny is off on vacation? Image

Rickenbacker makes idiosyncratic electric stringed instruments that are valid, for many people. And at a very high quality, compared to others (despite a few little hiccups every now an then). Image

I guess it could be called a boutique instrument company.

They call the parts and accessories department "The Boutique".

You oughta see it, too. JH has spared no expense. Wet bar, popcorn machine, hot tub.

It's closed for renovations, because it gets hard use.

They carry hot tubs and popcorn machines in the boutique too?

I dunno about that - how's Kenny gonna ship a hot tub? And do they come in all RIC colors or just a few? Image

The one I traded Jeff has exceptional figuring in the maple. And yes it is the one that was used in the RIC literature.

CII's are very nice basses. A tribute to RIC's craftsmen and "second to none" attention to detail.

The CII tone just didnt suit me. I tried for several years to get along with it and make it work, but it just wasnt "my" tone. Shame,,I loved the look and playability.

Im gonna try a Larado, maybe the all maple construction will better suit my needs.
