Save this one for Peter Heinzel if at all possible!!! This is his dream bass, and he has been searching for years.
It is in his home country too, so perhaps he can go see it and report to us about its true condition.
IF he does not want it, then Shaun is the next logical choice.
I will officially back off on bidding for this one, so that Peter can get it!!

Very nice, and identical to my left-handed MG from Oct. '72. The white switch tip IMO is original too, my Nov. '72 bass had one on it when I bought it.

A rough translation, with thoroughly-mangled idioms on my part:
Offered we a Rickenbacker bass Model 4001 stereo in Mapleglo with the Ser. NR. Process card 1260, year of construction November. 1972 in very best condition. On the potentiometers are follow four end numbers registered: 7223, 7232, 7232, and 7226!! The bass had light customs traces and is in unverbasteltem optical like technical status. I do without here over statements to sound, image and Reputation. The connoisseur appreciates this instrument. The suit-case is not original for my terms. My guess would be about 3,000 Euro, or just over 4K USD.

It's very nice, but if it fetches that kind of price (and it very well might) it makes my non-mint '73 checker-bound project look like a bit of a bargain...particularly seeing as I was always going to get it refinished anyway. I hope Peter manages to swing it. Having recently bought the '73 I'm out, unless I suddenly come into money, but thanks for the thought Elys.

My September '72 BG also has the white switch tip. I'm pretty sure it is original as the black tip I ordered from Mike Parks was too large for the threads.

Both of my '72s (Oct and Nov) have the finger-pulls as factory original items.
