I just got one of these Boss RC-20XL Loop Stations. It's a lot of fun. I just want to record different bass loops over some other loop sounds (drums, keyboards, etc.) that I can pull in from a CD.

This unit came with a sound library but most sounds already have the bass there. I am looking for another good resource for sounds, preferably free on the net but I would buy it if it was right for me.

Any suggestions?

Also, any tips on techniques for recording with the RC-20XL would be appreciated. I know that so far I end up putting way to much in there and it ends up sounding pretty muddled. Less is more I suppose!

Just surfing around, this is a pretty cool site to buy all kinds of drum loops. It's $30 a year to get all that this guy has.

The only question is that his loops are oriented towards software programs to incorporate them. The timing of his loops tend to be defined as beats/minute, where timing in the RC-20XL is set as a defined tempo (using foot pedal) and 4/4 timing that can be changed to 2/4, etc. I'll have to play around with his samples a bit and see how I can get them to seamlessly loop in the Boss box.
