Our rhythm guitarist has a VOX AC30 and uses his Vox AD120VT
as the practise amp, he wants to sell the AD120VT but has no idea
what he might get for it

- purchased it a few years ago ? (not exactly sure when he purchased it,
but he bought it new)
- used at 1 gig only, has zero marks on it, works perfectly

In the Toronto area so maybe fellow members in southern Ontario
may have a better idea of the value here (?)

Gordon, the suggested retail for this amplifier is around $1100 Canadian. I have seen them new for around $750 on the Canadian market.

I would say that he would be lucky to get $450-500 for this three year old amplifier with todays increasing dollar and falling Vox prices due to the reduced labour costs in China.

Agreed. I bought a mint AD50vt for $220. Excellent amps, though!

Italmelodie in Montreal has one new one in stock being sold off for $529.

Dean: wow that is a good price. It will be very interesting to see what happens to the quality of these amplifiers as their cost continues to plummet.

They have actually been discontinued, Peter. Vox is no longer making the blue Valvwetronix series amps at all. It seems that most retailers are liquidating their stock.

It is a shame because the other Valvetronix offerings are not quite as... um... professional as the Blue V'x amps. But I guess markets change and a high end modelling amp is limited potential and no longer profitable.

The upgrade to the AD120VT, the AD120VTX (Birch ply cab instead of MDF, tuned neodymium speakers) is selling in many US retailers for under $600US, where you can find them. One of the best deals in versatility at the moment IMO.

You're right about the difference in offerings, Dean. Even so, the chrome face versions are still a great value for the price---much better sound than I ever would have expected.

No doubt about that Mark. The Vox/Korg technology is still great tone, no matter which version.
