Raspberries' John Aleksic

Does anyone know what color John Aleksic's 4001 was back in 1973? In the Don Kirshner's Rock concert video of "I Can Remember" it seems lighter than burgundy...almost a Ruby red brightness. According to the Rickenbacker Page Ruby didn't start until 1980 and the "red" color not until 1985. Does anyone have any pics or info in this? Thanks
