What with it getting to the end of october and all, maybe the official speculation on the 2004 special colour can start NOW!
My guess: Apple Corps Green(burst)

I'm guessing some sort of blue - either a darker blue than navy, or some type of blueburst. Why? Inductive reasoning tells us. The most recent colors have been Montezuma brown, burgundy (red), seafoam green, desert gold (yellow) That leaves blue ;)
Or maybe silver. I have no clue ;)

I'm not planning on buying anything. But If Apple Corps Green is introduced, I'm buying two or three.

I think John may be onto something. I've been told by carpet and furniture reps that blue is next year's hot color; I gather that predicting hot colors is a bit like predicting the weather, just see what is popular in Europe and wait a year.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict Azureglo.

You'd be wrong.

Actually, the dealers already know but have been threatened with cancellation of their advance orders if they tell.

I want something radically new....Nightglo, whatever name you like.
Translucent black, no burst, black hardware, no chrome anywhere, gold pickguard and truss cover, black lettering, black fretboard, gold dots or triangle markers, double checkerboard gold binding......even I would order something like that.

So when will next year's color be announced to the eagerly waiting crowd that really wants to know? (BTW, Mr. Hall, if it's blueburst can I just put my order in now?) ;)

Hmmm....does this mean I'm wrong or everybody who posted is wrong?

Isn't the new color announced at the Winter NAMM show in mid-January?

Blueburst or Purpleburst would be awesome.

What do you think the next color may be. Will it be a new color to RIC or one of the old classics brought back? Since 2000 we have had two new colors (seemingly selected from the automotive line)and two RIC classics from the early days.

Sea Green(SG)(2000 Only)
Desert Gold(DG)(2001 Only)
Burgundy(BG)(2002 Only)
Montezuma Brown(MB)(2003 Only)

Looking at these colors I am thinking that the recent success of the BG and MB may have RIC thinking of another classic. But which one? I like the idea of Autumnglo which we haven't seen since the 1970s.

Autumnglo is one of the nicest finishes that RIC has had over the years. Jon Casselman's old bass is a good example.

Welcome back John, we've missed you. And is Burgandy different than Burgandyglo? I just bought an 81 Burgandy(glo?) 4003.
