I thought this was a bit wacky but funny.

That's weird - a double post of a topic. I'm sure I only posted it once.

What ever happened to Rick's 1970/71 compilation Beatles album?

I just bumped that thread up to the top and asked that question.

That "slider" link is pretty cool. A very devoted fan put a lot of effort into making that and designing album sleeves and song lists.
Does anyone know exactly what "slider" means in the context of the Beatles ??

That website has made my attempt seem worthless.

Hey Congerz ---- don't feel bad about your effort. It was a noble idea. Every participant on this Forum thread got great pleasure from suggesting which songs to include and all of us putting our two-cents worth into your project. I think it was very worthwhile and I enjoyed all the dialogue we all exchanged and I think dozens of other Forumites would feel the same.
Regards - Rich F.

+1!
Somewhere on here I just read a Lennon quote about people making a mixed tape of each Beatle's solo efforts--according to Lennon it would probably be the same since they would have all worked separately anyway.

Thank you for your interest in my page. Yes, the Lennon comment, which was made on Dick Cavett was a later influence to do the page, but I actually started doing it in the late 70s on an 8 track recorder (the old clumpy cartridge, not a multi-track recorder).
The advent of CDs and Photoshop enabled me to elevate the concept. It would probably be more efficient to have just made four or five really good CDs, but ideas kept creeping up, so why not?
The reason there are so many parodies of earlier albums is basic simplicity.
Thanks to my good friend "GS" (author of Beatle Money) for assembling and hosting my info.
BTW, the Slider concept is from the old sci-fi show of "alternate universes". Without getting too geeky, the premise here is that the solo albums went on pretty much the same way, while there was a co-release by "the Beatles" of collections. You just can't listen to Henry McCullough and imagine it is George playing-just doesn't work.
Other bands such as the Monkees, the Beach Boys and even Kiss have released similar types of collections.
