In an attempted/failed rock stunt simply too embarrassing to explain, Tuesday night I ripped about 1" of binding and a little chunk of wood from the bass side of my 370/12SPC around the sixth fret.
About six feet away, the piece of binding was recovered and it fits back in perfectly, but the missing wood is long gone. Besides donating all my worldly possessions and becoming a monk somewhere in Europe, what are my options?

"too embarrassing to explain"
I think after having a "few" in SoCal we will have a full reenactment.
Options...The likes of a Dale or Paul.

Explain the stunt attempt and beg for mercy from the forum!

Well, it involves alcohol, frustration, a microphone stand, a poor quality mic clip, and a reckless slide method.
EDIT - I should have said "anger" instead of frustration.

Ouch. But wood chips adjacent to the binding are easiest to repair if the guitar is anything but MG. If it's MG, it will not be invisible, but can still be done.
Depending upon how nice you want the finished result to be, you can have the chunk of binding re-installed or you could have the entire one side of the neck re-bound.

When I snap the piece of binding back in place, it fits so perfectly you can't see the cracks. So I think along with something to fill in for the fretboard wood, just a little glue should fix it to my liking. It's JG.

Ah, JG. Dead easy.

And the painted part is unscathed. It's just the light rosewood of the fretboard.
Any suggestions on filling that in? Some kind of sawdust and glue perhaps?

Ed Roman brand Rosewood Shoe Polish. Definitely. He'll give you a big discount too, $50 per can, this week only (It's really cordovan Kiwi

)
Seriously though, anything but the original piece of rosewood (is it rosewood or bubinga?) will look different than the original, particularly a large patch of glue and rosewood sawdust.
Unless someone like Paul does it, then you won't ever be able to tell it was ever damaged!!

Ah, JG. Dead easy.
Isn't that what you thought when doing the fingerboard refin on Brian's Blacker Than Black bass?
