Okay today I found myself in a local thrift store looking for cheap CD's and other affordable cool stuff when I saw the unmistakable shape of the headstock of a twelve string guitar sticking out from behind a couch that was on sale.

Well with me being me, I reached around that couch and found myself staring at this...

As you can see, the guitar has had better days, the top has a terrible lift and the bridge has been very cruedly re-attached to the top. But the strange thing is, this thing still plays and actually stays in tune. I don't know if I can repair this one but it's still a hell of a bargain, I mean how often can you buy a twelve string guitar for only three bucks?

Three bucks??? I'll give you four...

The cheapest guitar I ever bought was a 1967 Gibson Melody Maker, worn but all original, in its OHSC, for $60 in a flea market.

Bought my first guitar for $5, a non-descript classic. Then a new $80 Fender acoustic in 1977. In 1988 I bought my 1972 4001 for $150. Giggle.

That's odd... It looks like that twelve has Rickenbacker style stringing. 3 Euros is a bargain no matter what the condition is in most, if not all cases.

The cheapest guitar that I've bought was a 63 Rickenbacker Model 1000. I picked it up for $75 or $80 at an LA garage sale in 1998.
