Last night I went to a local watering hole to hear a friend perform in a Bob Dylan tribute evening (a Bob-a-Thon?). And I actually saw my first live Ric being played. All you Forumites have heard me say that there just ain't any Rics here in my hometown. Well now I've seen one; a 360/12 with high gains, and looked to be AFG. The guy who's last name has escaped my memory is a local fellow. And he played pretty well. Not exactly like RM; no, not at all. It was still great to hear. Just in case you were wondering, he didn't play "Mr Tambourine Man", "My Back Pages", nor "Chimes of Freedom" but on some more rather obscure Dylan songs. (I didn't write down the titles, alas!)

Are you from the Lawrence Kansas area by any chance? They had one here, but I didn't get the chance to go.

It was called "Chillin With Dylan: Bob Dylan Tribute Night." I went to a Neil Young show like it a couple years back. They seem to have them every year or so for different bands, and they're usually pretty great.

Yes, I certainly do live in Lawrence, KS. I'm mostly known about town as one of the fiddlers in The Euphoria String Band, and also teach banjo at the Americana Music Academy.
