NOt that I would know any better but would that skunk strip show through the ruby?
Kinda looks like a weak burgandy (sp?)-maybe like a pinot...

Yes I might be wrong, Jared.
This can very well be a Burgundyglo with too much red hue in the photos.
Here are some Ruby's for comparison. According to Mike Parks' site, the Ruby is a metallic red.

You can see thru that finish, its burgundyglo, I have one just like it...

I had an '88 Ruby-glo 4003, I hated to sell it, but I had to lighten my load when I moved to CA. It was a very pretty bright red. I wish I at least had a pic of it.

Ruby was silver with red over it; this here's a BurgundyGlo.

Thanks for the correction, guys.
By the way, Ruby was available '80-'84.
My appology for the wrong Ruby years info.

Paul, don't be so hard on yourself, those dates are the "official" ones, but, like Joey's 1988 Ruby 4003, guitars with that finish appeared beyond 1984. Mike Parks' Collectables page
http://www.the-music-connection.com/riccol.htm
has a sold March 1987 360 Ruby shown, as well as a sold April 1989 350 Ruby. The same holds for Silver guitars, the finish went past 1984 as well.

You bet they did! I saw Ruby finishes on the racks as late as '88-'89...

Paul,
I can see where you would think it was Ruby, that was the first thing I thought too, but it was too early for a Ruby and I knew the official years were 80 to 84 and had never heard of a Ruby 4001, that's why I said translucent as I didn't have any idea of what the color was, that is much redder than the Burgandyglo that I just bought. (worlds longest sentence) I like it.

My favourite bass guitarist , Bruce Foxton of The Jam, played a 4001 in exactly that colour of lighter burgundyglo. It was a later 70's one.

Here's an earlier thread in which I posted a picture of my 4003 Ruby next to my 4000 FL Burgundy:
