Does anyone have any recommendations for a pickup system to put into a 6-string steel string acoustic guitar?
My local music store gave me a sales pitch on the L.R. Baggs iMix system and it does seem to get very good reviews.

Does anyone have opinions on this pickup? Any suggestions for a better one?

That's what PW is using on his acoustics, isn't it?
Paul?

Yep. The EQ is adjustable in three bands, the two pickups can be mixed in mono mode or gain controlled individually in STEREO mode.
Yep, it's a stereo or mono, depending upon whether you plug a mono or stereo jplug into the endpin jack.
Natural-sounding, too.

The Baggs products are simply amazing and Lloyd has created a wonderful company to support them; I highly recommend them.

My personal favorites are the K&K Pure Western and Pure Western Mini. Incredible sounding passive system that sounds as natural as your acoustic unamplified. It uses three individual quailty contact pups that mount directly to the bridge plate and sounds great with or without a preamp.
The only thing that is kind of a P.I.T.A. is the actual mounting but a repairman/luthier worth his salt can have it installed in nothing flat. Some have been coupling the Pure Western with a Baggs PARA DI and have been estatic with the results!
