Beautiful Guitar, should bring a high price. But how about that shipping from Ohio..$401.68 They must be buying a round trip ticket and delivering it in person..

Hmmm - someone admittedly at least 67 years old, just showing 2 recent purchases after not buying anything for over a year, both purchases for young-people's X-box gear too specialized for grandparents to be buying for their grandkids, and now all of a sudden a beautiful $8000-plus item going up for auction? That's way out of profile. Smells very high-risk to me, fits the profile of a hijacked eBay login ID instead. Too high risk for me to recommend to anyone I know..... I would have to pay a personal visit to see the guitar before I would consider it legit

I think you're right Dale, a real beauty! Looks like one of the first butcher block batch. It does look a bit too clean though? Not that that is a bad thing.

Weird. An early '58 wouldn't have a bridge cover. Definitely FG. And FG wasn't available in '58. Everything looks right but I have to recheck those inlays vs. my '58 365. Shipping is pretty astronomical, lol. I'd like to know the serial number.....

That's just north of Cinci, perhaps Scott Doseck can go check it out.

It's a beauty, but I'm with JWilli, there are a few things that go against the norm on this guitar; most of the '58 finishes I've seen have not faded out to that extreme of red, although some of the TTB and Autumnglo guitars have turned somewhat reddish over the years. Too pristine for a '58 nitro finish, even for under the bed IMO. Still a real whopper of a Rickenbacker, the Maple butcher-block top is killer. This guitar could have some early pics at a show somewhere...Spock, sensor sweep please...

Here's the '58 shown in the Smith book:

Serial number's 2V150. It just looks TOO clean? The pickguard and knobs look brand new and that pick up has to be half an inch out of position?? Very strange?? I still love it.

It's a real Capri, but IMO: look at the Fireglo over spray inside the sound hole. I've never seen a factory model of that vintage with the over spray like that. Could be a 1st. I got a return Email from the woman who's selling it. She says it was her dad's. Doesn't know much about it, so I should contact a Rickenbacker dealer for more info. Everything says it's a 58 except the color...

Something else I notice: is that a number 3 inside the upper forward part of the sound hole?

After studying the pics of this 365, I believe its all legit. Can't explain the FG but it looks correct. Cool guitar!

Here is info I just received from the seller:
This is a 2V150. There has been no modification to this guitar. My father received this as a gift in the late 50's and he played it in high school. Since then it has been in its case.
I am thinking it is legit as well, a perfect unmodified original early to mid fall 1958 Capri 365 with an atypical early factory fireglo! This one is gonna go for comfortable five figures to a well-helled collector (or a well-heeled forumite)
...PS. NOT me, I wouldn't appreciate such a thing, being mainly a bass player
