My white '97 4003. It had all black hardware, but I wanted to try a toaster in the neck position. I thought the "chrome" toaster looked to out of place by itself, so I went ahead and put on a chrome pickup surround.

I think the chrome toaster goes well with the surround, and blends nicely with the chrome bridge. The black tailpiece ties the black tuning keys together, making it all look pretty cool I think.

I threw the vintage knobs on for a touch of nostalgia.


What do you guys and gals think?

It certainly looks nice but I'd leave the black surround. The chrome toaster would look fine by itself (IMO of course).

That looks great, Sergio! I think the chrome is perfect, but if you can find them, white vintage knobs would look really cool on it, like the ones on this bass.

I'm not a black hardware kinda guy, but I like it. I think the chrome toaster needs a chrome bridge pickup surround to go with it.

I absolutely love the look of the white basses before RIC switched to black hardware on them. Black PG and binding with all chrome hardware is SO gorgeous. You've just about nailed it Scott!

I like it, I'm going to use the vintage knobs on my white Laredo and white checkered 4001 also.
