Does anyone know if some of the guitar sound on the early Rain Parade stuff such as "You Are My Friend" and "Look What She's Done To Your Mind" is played on Rickenbackers. I know some of the guitars used are Fender Jags and there's a Gretsch tucked in there but always wondered about Rickies....

There used to be a Atlanta zine called, Tasty World. It came out in the 80's. I had a copy that had an article about Clay Alison. Dave Roback's first band after he left the Rain Parade. The picture they used was a live shot. Dave was playing a 60's Fireglo 360/12. I'm pretty sure he use that guitar on "What She's Done To Your Mind". When I saw the Rain Parade, Dave was already gone. Matt Piucci played a 60's Gretsch Tennessean and the late Will Glen played a Fender Jag when he wasn't playing the organ. Great band a great show.

The UK vinyl version of 'Emergency Third Rail Power Trip' has a gatefold sleeve with lots of band photos inside, but sadly, no evidence of Rickenbackers in any of the pictures.

It would be hard to believe that the 12-string on "What She's Done To Your Mind" is anything but a Rick. Very McGuinn-like playing, as well.

Thanks guys.... did wonder about that 12 string on WSDTYM but seems like everyone's fairly sure its a Rick.

Thank God for that! Great band, great pair of albums....
