Look away....it's not good. Why buy a Rick and change everything on it?

No big deal, this one can be repaired. Find the rick pickups and a rick bridge and you're well underway.
When I think "Butchering" I think of people sawing up bodies or going completely through the body to install new hardware.

Someone give that poor ol' bass what it's screaming for. It'd be such a beauty with the right pickups and hardware back on it.

I agree that this bass could be brought back to it's former glory without too much trouble. The worst would be if any routing was done when the pickups were replaced.

It may not have been butchered but it sure as heck's been hit with the ugly stick. That said with 12 bids and only $280 bid someone should get a Bargain.

There's real wide divide between many folks here and those of us who don't mind a mod or two if it improves the sound or playability of a bass. I've recently learned the hard way that mods can affect values when you to to sell

But then, I sure wouldn't want to yank out the Darkstars & reinstall the original pups on my old Guild. Still, I wonder why those mods were made on the Ruby Rick? They have left the bass too messy even for me!

Isn't it still an early '50s Tele, just a worthless one?

I sure hope that thing was in a fire, or went through some other such trauma justifiable of such criminal treatment.
