The band may be great, but the video is aggravating. I have a longer attention span than half a second....

Speaking of Thirteen.... Thirteen

"Teenage Fanclub" Think they may have heard Pictures of Lilly once or twice before they wrote this song?

They are a great band, they make me think more of The Byrds.

With more distortion.

I agree.

Though I did like the song.

LOL... I was thinking the same thing the first time I heard this song.

I have had the CD (Grand Prix) since 1995 - and it's still one of my favorites, I still play it and play along with it.

What is the bass player playing? Looks like a LP Recording bass in Pelham Blue or a refin.

Having been a "fan" since their first album on Matador, I can't resist temptation to interject here...

TAF are the first to admit their fascination with Big Star and all that influenced them, but they definitely have their own thing going. Give them a fair listen and I think you'll discover that too. It's all too easy to say "I've heard that before" without really digging in, and all too hard to make music that's completely new and original sounding while still being listenable and lasting. Of course it all boils down to personal taste anyway.

My 2 favorite albums are Man-Made (the latest) and Howdy (the one before that)--tho I do love Thirteen also. There really aren't that many bands that I've loved for that long that I can say I like their newest work best. I really have to applaud them for that!
