Mark Bass amps and cabinets

Holy cow. I played some of these yesterday and was floored by their sound. The cabs and amp heads are super lightweight but push bass tones like mad. If they were a little less expensive, I'd likely stop using SWR cabs.

The amps are very fairly priced. I got a LM II on Wednesday, fantastic! I have been using lightweight amps since the early '80s, so the weight issue is nothing new to me.

Markbass started coming in to the U.S. through Guitar Centers about the fall time frame last year. I heard the buzz on a couple of forums and decided to give the amp that most people were talking about(Little Mark II) a tryout. Very impressed with the ricks sounds coming out of their stuff, even more when I put a Sansamp RBI in front. And the weight(lack of) is great.

the markbass has one of the most accurate reproductions of an instrument's actual sound that i have ever heard-and sounds great with the humbucking pickups on my cii and embassy basses. oh and the tone control layout is dead simple and easy to use-i am thinking of getting a second combo(the twin-6") when it becomes available in the states.

I took my 2004 4003 in to play through these yesterday. Absolutely incredible. The 850w head and the 6x10 cabinet were brutal and very versatile...and pricey!
My playing didn't gather an audience but my all black Ric sure did.

Hey Jeff, nice to see that you took the Markbass plunge! Are you keeping your Walter Woods? Any other comparisons you can offer between the sound of both amps?

The WW is a keeper! I haven't compared the two amps yet. The WW will be for louder outdoor kind of gigs as it is more powerful and has some useful features such as the switch for the line out to be pre or post or turned off altogether. The two channels come in handy occasionally, also.
