Sorry, this is not Ric related, but I thought that all the bassists out there would be interested. Check this chick out. She is only 21 years old recently playing with Chick Corea. Her Myspace samples sound almost like Jacko.

This should be in "The Others" section. Don't be surprised if Peter moves it there.

She's good, but I appreciated the drumming more than the bass playing.

She's got chops no doubt, but she's trying too hard to be like someone else. Young players tend to do that, until they get a sound of their own.
We'll probably be hearing more from this girl...

Some really nice groovin', which I enjoy more than solos.
She should go far!

Sean,
I agree. I like the drummer. In that Youtube clip it's pretty much noodling less as much a song. I like songs. Her solo CD is much more songs, and in my opinion showcases her talent much more.

She sounds great to me, from the MySpace tracks. I think I'll be getting her CD.

The drummer? He's ok...I've seen better.
Go see Chad Wackerman if you really want to see a good drummer.
I think the girl is friggin Awesome and has a promising future ahead of her!
Could anyone here play close to that when you were 21?
Thanks Kris for posting this. I really enjoyed it.

Ben, did you check out her myspace sound clips? She is really great! Yes, she does sound a lot like Jacko, but then.... he was a genius.

Maybe because the music itself is not my thing, but I didn't think it was very good. the drummer and her didn't seem to be jiving at all, but they thought they were.
I'll stick to my rock and roll.

It's bare bones stuff, but I love it. No place to hide there...
She has good technical ability, and, with time, will find her own calling.
