When I recently logged onto Amazon, I saw that a new book by Pattie Boyd with a co-author is to come out in late August:
"Wonderful Tonight: George Harrison, Eric Clapton, and Me" (Hardcover)
by Pattie Boyd (Author), Penny Junor (Author)

How many incredible songs have been written about that one woman? George met her during Hard Day's Night. Here are a few I can think of...any others?
Layla
Wonderful Tonight

wikipedia sez:
"It is commonly believed that Harrison's inspiration for "Something" was his wife at the time, Pattie Boyd. However, Harrison himself later denied this, saying that "Everybody presumed I wrote ["Something"] about Pattie, but actually when I wrote it I was thinking of Ray Charles."[3]

Sounds like an old Beatle one-liner to me.

He also answered in a rather shy tone in an interview with David Wigg (which I have on record) from 1969 when asked for the inspiration for Something. "I think Patty"

As best I remember reading, and I think it was on the Wikipedia page for Patti, but George admitted to writing it about her until she left for Clapton and then he said that the didn't have her so much in mind when he wrote as he might have told her. Whether it's the truth or hurt feelings, I don't know.

inth e Japan interviews he denies again having pattie in mind when writting it and says "It's funny, I wrote Isn't It A Pity about Pattie, and no one EVER asks me about that one!"

Ref the inquiry about other songs written about Patty Boyd --- add Ron Wood's "Breathe" to that list (from either his second or third solo album). He had an affair with her while she was married to EC....
Seems like a repeat story. Guitarists work together and wife ends up falling for the other guitarist. Regards Rich F.
