I just saw it after work today. Anyone else see it? Thoughts? I thought it was pretty cool. Not exactly what I expected, but still great.

Is it worth it to go see it? Or one of those 'wait til the DVD' type of things.
I saw "Hairspray" last week...that was good. Worth it just to see John Travolta do his best in drag with the voice of "Dr. Evil". Seriously.

It's definitely a big screen viewer. The animation/cinematography is 100x better than the TV show, although the story itself feels more like a long episode than a movie. You can tell they worked really hard to make it look amazing, and it does. And there is just enough fun referential stuff to please hardcore fans like me without getting too obnoxious and lost.

And make sure you stay all the way through the credits. It's kind of long but worth it.

I loved it. It explains why the show has been sucking recently. It's brilliant.

I am dying to see it. Maybe this weekend. I have been so busy with work and band lately that I haven't hardly had time for anything else.
The Simpsons is my all time favorite TV show and I am glad they brought in some of the old writers to help out with the movie as the majority of the last 4 or 5 seasons has been about average.

I am a diehard Simpsons fan. But I did NOT care for the film. Pretty disappointed in it overall.
Don't misunderstand, it had its moments. The skateboarding scene comes to mind. My favorite part of all was when Ralph came out in the 'O' to sing along with the fanfare. Duh duh duhhh
It was my first experience with digital projection film. That was nifty.

I love the Simpsons!I used to teach english conversation in Japan and when I first heard about the Simpson TV show around 89 or 90 I had my parents record it and send me the tapes so that I could use it to teach my students colloquial english and phrases like "eat my shorts" and "bite me".

Noel - eat my shorts. Just kidding. I can totally see how serious fans would be disappointed. It was very different than what I expected. Keep in mind this was supposedly written by Matt G and James L Brooks, as opposed to the team of 100+ Harvard grads that write the show.

"Eat my shorts"
That was my summer of 1972 saying - it was the raunchiest thing I could think of to say to someone that ****** me off. Should have got a trademark on it.
