Epiphone has made some pretty nice guitars for the money over the years (both pre and post Gibson). Their recent 'Ultra' is a great guitar at any price. Too bad its only offered in the flaming orange.
Speaking of Epiphones,

I have an Epiphone Thunderbird and love it. I've had 3 over the years and all of them have been great for the money..

I currently have 4 Epiphones, 2 Casinos and 2 of their reissue '63 Firebird VII's. I've always liked their guitars. I really wish that they would get back to making a lot more of their classic archtops and some of their '60's era solid bodies.

Funny you should mention these. I went out today to find a 4-string acoustic/electric bass. I was thinking Michael Kelly, and tried one of his (Dragonfly), a Takamine and and Epiphone, both acoustic & electric. The Epiphone won (the Kelly was a 5-string fretless so there was a slight disadvantage there for me, but I did consider it). It plays great. It's an "El Capitan" model.
Now I'd like to find a cool _little_ amp for this acoustic/electric bass. Any suggestions?

I have a brown burst Sheriton II exactly like the one here (above). I like it a lot, but as with most of my guitars it always takes a back seat to my Rick 360 and 350.

I have had an Epiphone 335 "dot" for almost four years now. I changed out the pickups (Duncan Seth Lover PAF bridge, Duncan Phat Cat neck) and added a Bigsby B7 - it is and has always been (since the mods) an absolutely fantastic guitar in ever way. I'll never get rid of it.

I've always like Epiphones. I've currently got:
MIJ Casino Elite (Sunburst With Bigsby)
MIK Casino (Black With Bigsby)
MIK Casino (Cherry)
MIK Casino (Sunburst)
MIK Sorrento (Orange With Bigsby)
MIK Acoustic (Black)
I sold my '66 Casino because the Elite is a better guitar.

I have a couple of Epi's too:
A Flamekat and a Les Paul. The LP is very similar to the first one in this thread, but two differences; the binding on mine has an aged look to it and my hardware is chrome. They are great guitars.

John Lee, the three stringed Beatles, Steve Earle, Matthew Sweet, etc. the ONE guitar brand they all have in common = Epiphone.
I had a Korean Casino which looked great but was an absolute piece of junk. BUT I currently own an Epi Elitist Country Deluxe 'Chet Atkins' and not only does it turn head, it sounds amazing.
