I had an original back in the 70's with the interchangeable pups...it played well..nice neck.. fit was a little off..kinda heavy as I recall..killer tone..lot like a 70's Tele voicewise..can't beat the look.

Yeah,I think it is so cool.Greg Ginn of Black Flag had one that he had hardwired a humbucker into.

Man what a great performance. I loved that band. Rod was and still is a great showman. He just seems to energize any band he sings with.
Oh yes the guitar, very, very cool Mitch.

I owned one of these guitars in the '80s. I agree with George that it was heavy and the intonation was almost impossible to get accurate on account of the wooden one piece bridge saddle.
I still wish I had it for the curiosity factor, but it was never my "go to" guitar.

You've probably all seen the clip of Keef lending his Dan Armstrong to Jimi.

I noticed the Jack Finney book, Mitch.
He's a neighbor of mine...you must read "Five by Finney" if you can. Really good short stories...
Jack wrote "Invasion of the Body Snatchers", back in the early Fifties. It's set in our town, Mill Valley, thinly disguised, of course.
