Hi, Michael. Welcome aboard.
Well, I play a Burgundy Rickenbacker too - a 1980 4001. Plus a Jetglo 1974 4001, a Fireglo 1970 4001, a White 1976 4001 and an Azureglo 1979 4080.
Enjoy the Forum!

Sweet bass Mikey! Nice choice – that’s a great color. I seriously considered it but went for the JG instead - wanted one since I was 14 but always found myself with a MG - uhm - that's the color of my 4004Cii too (well natural anyway)
Welcome aboard!
Sergio, where ya been?
cheers

Andy,
My warranty card for my Natural 4004Cii says 4004 MG so I guess we can call them Mapleglo.

Hi Mike,
yeah, welcome, I've learned a real lot here and expect to continue to learn about these great basses, there are also many different opinions here about many different types of things, so this is a very interesting place to be. I also just bought a Burgandy 81 4003 which I am going to restore to original (if it ever gets to Lima Perú) with the help of some fine people here, including Sérgio above who is going to help me out with my dead pickups.
Check out the archives there is a lot of great stuff there.

Michael,
You can create a free acount at
http://photos.yahoo.com. Photos which are no larger than 1 MB that you upload there will automatically be converted to well under 35k that's postable here.
Or you can register for a free acount at
www.villagephotos.com. that provides image shrinking software.

Andy (O'Connor):
Hi! Well, I've been here, there and everywhere! Seriously, I've been doing lots of things, a minute number of which have been Rickenbacker-related: in a few weeks I'm to add a further (used) 4001 bass to my collection. I believe this one 'baby' was not that common (sports a black nameplate & pickguard) back when it was made (mid-70s). All will be revealed!
Check you later. Peace.
