Mailing A Package From UK

I have been waiting almost 4 weeks for a parcel to arrive from the UK, airmail! It now seems lost forever.

My question is, if you were in the UK with a small package to send to Canada, how would you send it so that it could be tracked.

The combination of the Royal Mail and Canada Post does not seem to be a good thing.

I have sent small parcels to Canada using either Royal Mail or Parcelforce (a Royal Mail sidekick) generally with no major problems. Guitars I use either Parcelforce or Interlink Express. Both are trackable and take around 10 days (even for the 4 day service).

I have (in the past) sent parcels via Parcelfarce (sic) air service but they somehow went surface (not trackable). These take around 3 to 4 months to be delivered, but sometimes are never seen again.

I have also used Bax Global (they were good) and Interparcel.com (very cheap, looked dodgy but did come up with the goods).

You mention small packet so one assumes it is not a guitar.

If it is under 2kg then one can send it Airsure which has a tracking facility but is 3-5 days, cost is normal charge plus £4.20

International signed for is normal plus £3.50 but can only be tracked with in UK, it can be comfirmed it left, but if it does not signed for good indication it did not arrive.

If it was say a CD, normal airmail price would be £1.80 but when you add the £4.20 on for tracking becomes £6, that is why most don't bother when posting small items.

I sent Tony Carey a package a week and a half ago and I have not heard from him yet as to whether he got it. Image
