Well, Mitch doesn't seem to be posting cool YouTube links tonight, so here's one for a Saturday night.

That was excellent! The Faces had the potential to do anything... but it was never fully realized. Songs like this show just how great they were -and it's a Macca cover (that takes cojones).
Mclagan (sp?), Lane, Stewart (skinnier than me even), and Wood (what a player) nailed it. Can't recall the drummer's name. Love that small kit he's playing.

The drummer is Kenney Jones, formerly of the Small Faces, latterly of the Who.

What bass is that?

It's Ronnie Lane's Zemaitis bass. Played it from 1970 - 1975, the very sound you hear on Maggie May.

Got to meet "Plonk" just after he moved to town, he was very nice and, indeed very small.
Of course now "Mac" lives here and he's a big fan of our band!

Yeah, Mike, I found the picture on that site and learned that info after searching for a picture for Paul Boyer's question. A very strange looking bass, but no denying the great tone.
The Faces were, first and foremost, almost always drunk. But they were also one hell of a rock and roll engine. I can't imagine any rock band that doesn't wish they could pull off the power, fun and showmanship of the instrumental outro to "Stay With Me". And I sure wish I could nail a high scream like Rod used to do.

Yes--always drunk! Met them after a show in Long Beach at the hotel to get autographs and they were still drunk -- and loud!
