Ok see how it goes this week all these versions are in real player format but I think most of you will have real player.

Don't let me down on this there is only ONE version lol.

As usual not looking for artists but name them if you wish just want your preferences, unless you think it would be another good idea for you to name the versions as an aside brings a competitive element to it, if so e-mail answers.

Hope you find it interesting but if few takers will make it the last.

Mark not large file so you should be able to take part.

This is a hard one. Let's see.
#2
#4
#3
#1
I don't know if it's only mine Roy but all the artist's names are at the bottom of the screen on realplayer. I only recognized #3's voice but recognized the names of both #1 and #2. #2 was known here at least to me back then. #4 was interesting, sounded like a Muscles Shoals style but I've never heard of the artist.

My vote is 4, 1, 2, 3. I like #4 because it's a different style and feel for the song. #2 sound too much like it should be Monty Python background music, and #3 sounds like Dino hired a Mariachi band (I never was a fan of his music, anyway.)

Please keep this going, Roy. I'm enjoying it.

Version one by a mile, Version two is OK so second, Version four third (better by a male vocalist), but Deano's Version 3 last. I have never forgiven him for his sarcasm about the Stones in the 60s. How wrong he was.

1 (a sad loss, and he deserved more success than he had, IMHO)
4 (don't actually like the voice too much, but the backing is original)
3
2 (he could be good, and he could be terrible - here he's leaning towards the latter, again IMHO of course!)

Thanks to those who took part perhaps the song was not known.

version 1 was Billy Fury (2nd only to Cliff Richard in terms of popularity as a solo artist in UK in 60's and the first from Liverpool to make an impact)

version 2 was P J Proby

Version 3 Dean Martin (had a top 40 hit in US)

version 4 Ruby Winters 9had a top 10 hit in 70's in UK with the song)

According to votes

order of preference was
1 Billy Fury ( due to those from UK who voted)
2 Ruby Winters (surprised me that)
3 P J Proby
4 Dean Martin
