Bass combo practice amp recomendations

Hey all you bass guys out there. I'm in the market for a good, low price, 50 watt or so practice amp for my apartment. I've looked at the fender bassman combos, swr la series, and ashdown five fifteen. Any recommendations?

IMHO THe best used buy right now would be the Peavey Minx. I have one of those and a new Fender BXR Rumble 60. I like them both. The Peavey has a 10 and the Fender has a 12,

Another vote for the Fender Rumble.
I had the 100, and it was sweet.
Ampeg B-100R is nice too.

My votes go for either the GK Backline 110 or SWR Workingpro 10, both worth the money; I think the SWR has the edge in sound and tone.

Behringer. I think it's called the BXR3000 or something like that. Less than $300.00; 300W and EQ. Mine has an aluminum cone on its single 15. Built like a tank. Drawback is weight: 72 pounds.

The Behringer is nice if you want something cheap and with decent tone, I second Paul's recommendation. I bought one for a girlfriend's son as a practice amp (the 60 or 100W, I dont remember) and I ended up using it more than he did!!

Two phrases I never thought I hear together in the same sentence.
Though this may no longer be available, the 90-watt version the Hartke B600 has been my practice/rehearsal amp. Love it.

I would also say Hartke is pretty good. I had the Kickback 10. When he said low price, that should eliminate SWR, GK etc, as they are usually more than 300 bucks, which is my top level for low price. YMMV

A friend of mine got a SWR WP10 for $250.00 from GC last year. I would consider that pretty inexpensive, especially given the amp's quality.

I would recommend either a Fender bassman or a Yorkville. They both use eminence speakers and sound really good for combo amps. I have never cared for the Fender Rumbles; the speaker wasn't very good and the amp sounded muddy.
I have owned a Yorkville combo as my main amp for four years, and I can attest to it's quality and durability. They also have a great warranty.

Well, I've placed a bid on a bassman 60. We'll see what happens. I'm keeping my eye on an swr and a couple ampegs as well. Thanks for the recommendations.

Ampeg B112, just great for practice and rehearse.
Good "clank" and punch for the 4001 and enough treble bite and pound bass for the "growl". CD in and headphone jack, however the line out is not balanced.

I currently have a SWR Basic Black (15") visiting my house. These seem to do a good job. I believe you can find them between $300 to $400 used.

What about the Orange crush 35B? Anybody had any experience with those?
