Where is he, now that we really need him???

That's the first time I've ever seen a Captain Video clip. I've always been curious since seeing Ed Norton of The Honeymooners watching it. I had heard a long time ago that the films of Captain Video were destroyed, used for something else.

No Captain Midnight was the Reichsführer-SS(Secret Squadron).He replaced this guy:

For (Secret)Squadron.1950's P.C. I guess.Couldn't have a bunch of kids running around with SS patches on their arms.Theyed look like a bunch of fifth columnists.That's why Captain Midnite and Ovaltine decided to go with the SQ design.

So it was "Secret Quadron". Yeah. Far superior.

The Captain Midnight secret decoder ring was also very popular. I seem to recall that Captain Video had some kind of glow in the dark ring that could be used to write secret messages. Yes, I'm ancient.

I never knew there was a real Captain Video, I watched the Honeymooners when I was a kid and have the complete set now.
