Rick Bass in Japan

Just wanted to pass on an observation I made concerning some posts that Tony Cabibi made with links to Yahoo auctions in Japan. One of the basses for auction is an Azureglo 4001 s/n MF 2232, which was made in June 1973. Almost all these auctions say "seller will not ship internationally" and that would cause most people in the US to give up, not to mention trying to bid on an auction that's in Japanese. But the seller of this bass is a guitar store called Jingle-Shop with a web site that's easily googled and translated(somewhat). They are advertizing this bass on their website for 315,000 yen which converts to around $2700. According to the translated description this bass does have checkered binding and "Glover" tuners, no case, and some buckle rash on the back. Just thought somebody here might want to pursue this, the shop might be talked into shipping to the US, you never know unless you try.

A few years back I bought a CS from a seller in Japan. Also a guitar. Both arrived in under a week for a lot less cost than shipping from Europe (and I'm on the East coast).
And as mark noted, the Google translation tool is not bad at all.

I got my 2 CS's also from Japan and they came in like in 4 days. I also got my Fender Jazz from there. Always very happy with the deal

Kris, did your #5 CS come from that site?

Hmmmm,
I wonder if an E-mail blitz from our forum members MIGHT sway his decision to ship internationally?
The seller would benefit in the pocket and we would have our hands on some sweet guitars!
....using a translator of course!

It has no case and the knobs missing the silver plates.
The shop places Hokkaido (Far north from Tokyo.) so it is not easy to see.

Paul,
No, my #5 CS came from an individual as far as I know. Seems to me that he was in business of finding instruments like this in Tokyo shops and selling them here.

I would highly recommend him from my past experience of dealing with him.
